Returns & Exchanges

In the first instance, if you have an issue with your order then please contact us via email or phone. This policy includes rights you are entitled to under Australian Consumer Law. If there is a problem with any of the items received for your order then please contact The Hare & Tortoise Books as soon as possible. If you have received an item that is incorrect, damaged or faulty we require proof of purchase - item must be returned or exchanged within 14 days of purchase date. The Hare & Tortoise Books is not obligated to accept a return for a change of mind. If we do accept a change of mind return then you must pay return postage and will only be entitled to a store credit, excluding the cost of shipping, for the approved returned item - if purchased online, or return in store at 69 Commercial Street, Korumburra VIC 3950. All returns must be packed securely with cardboard or bubble wrap protecting the item, packed to prevent movement inside the package and ensuring the package is firmly enclosed. Returned items must be received at The Hare & Tortoise Books in new and re-saleable condition (except where a damaged item has been accepted for return). Store credits and refunds for an approved return will only apply to the item returned and will not cover any return postage costs or your original shipping charge. Returns and refunds are not possible for the following product types: - Gift Vouchers/Gift Cards

Whilst many books on our website are in stock and ready to dispatch, some stock are not carried in store and need to be ordered in from the supplier. Expected delivery times for each book will be communicated after purchase from the website. Generally, titles in stock in store are shipped within 1-2 business days; stock on order in Australia are shipped within 7-10 days of your order (depending on stock availability). Books sourced from the United States are shipped in 10-12 days and books sourced from the United Kingdom are shipped in 12-14 days. Prices and stock availability may differ from the information displayed on our website. If the price and/or availability changes, we will contact you at our earliest to inform you. We do our best to estimate a shipping date however we do not guarantee that the estimate is the date it will be shipped, as this depends on a titles availability. Please note that expected delivery times are dependent upon the publisher's advice about the availability of the book.
